FEBRUARY THEME: Breathless and sweaty…in the best way possible

Pilates has so many healthy body benefits, but it’s really not always a big calorie burner. However this February, all the Pilates sessions at Club Rhythm will blend elements of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) to help you built your cardio fitness and burn the unwanted calories.

Each session will aim to bring you a heart pounding, fat burning cardio feel using various Pilates and Pilates inspired exercises.

The idea is that you do short periods of “all-out work” followed by short periods of active recovery to make the body work harder than it does during steady-state Pilates workouts. Now that summer is here and the holiday season is over, there are absolutely no excuses for not bringing your body back into shape.

During the sessions move only as quickly as you can maintain your technique and your joints alignment. Push yourself , but listen to your body; there’s no reason that you shouldn’t be sweating and breathing hard by the time you finish those high intensity intervals. Bring your focus to your entire body to push through the high intensity bouts knowing that you will get a quick rest in between exercises to prepare you for the next one.
