Joseph Pilates said it best – “If your spine is inflexibly stiff at 30, you are old; if it is completely flexible at 60, you are young.” Spine mobility is important. Your spine and overall health directly correlate to how young you move and feel. Strength and flexibility, coordination (both muscularly and mentally), improved posture, balance and core strength, improved bone density, and joint health contribute to that feel – not to mention, to your looks too. 😎
During June, all Pilates Reformer sessions will help you focus on your spine mobility and to help you with this we will have some fun playing with a series of related exercises like hip rolls, short spine, short spine with scissors, down stretch and … have we mentioned that we love spine rotation? 😎
The human body is endlessly fascinating and responds and adapts naturally to the Pilates exercises, an amazing regimen for strengthening and caring for your most precious asset: your health! Keep moving, feel energised, empowered and restored – enjoy your body, enjoy life and the benefits of this month focus:

- Release tension on your back and glutes – strengthen the gluteal and hamstring muscles.
“As a heavy rainstorm freshens the water of a sluggish or stagnant stream and whips it into immediate action, so does the Pilates Methods purify the bloodstream.” ~ Joseph Pilates. For anyone interested in the wise words of Mr. Pilates he has written a book named RETURN TO LIFE. This book is the original Pilates exercise book written by the creator and visionary of the Pilates method of exercise, Joseph H. Pilates. This book presents the conceptual basis and philosophy of the Pilates method or ‘Contrology’ and the original matwork exercises Mr. Pilates taught in the studio on 8th Avenue and 55th Street in New York City.
