SATURDAY 18th May 10:30am – 1:00pm – YOGA AND HER SISTER AYURVEDA

Saturday 18th May, 10:30am to 1:00pm  join us for this 2.5 hours workshop that brings to you Yoga practice and its sister science, Ayurveda. The word Ayurveda, when unpacked from its sanskrit form, technically means the science of life. Beyond that it’s a 5,000-year-old system of natural healing that teaches you how to live in harmony with the laws of nature. Knowing the basics of Paleo, Whole30, and Keto is one thing, but becoming familiar with Ayurveda, a holistic medicine practice from India is opening the possibilities of new taste and healthy cooking ideas. If you’re curious about the tradition but words like “dosha” sound like gibberish to you (it’s actually sanskrit), consider this workshops designed to combine Yoga movements with your Pilates Reformer practice and yumilicious food (light lunch included).

OCTOBER CHALLENGE – EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE …

In the famous words of Mary Poppins “Everything is Possible, Even the Impossible.strength training Arguably the most memorable quote in the film, this quote basically sums up the October challenge. It is a reminder that all we have to do is believe in ourselves. Maybe the impossible is just a state of mind, maybe is better not to think too much … as also the wise Mary Poppins says : “Some people … think a great deal too much. Of that I am sure.”

So less thinking and more doing this month. Challenging your body to go beyond its limits and adapting to whatever you throw at it has been shown to be one of the most motivating factors in adhering to a fitness routine and certainly beneficial with profound effects on your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Take the October challenge and get your body moving, reach your fitness goals, and keep you feeling energised and empowered all day long.

Pain is a normal part of the human condition; it is not pleasant but it is necessary for our survival. Imagine not being able to sense the danger a hot stove might pose to seriously burning your hand! Unfortunately pain that persists may not be performing a useful role; instead it might be interrupting the ability to function and live and enjoy life. Pain can be perplexing and frustrating to understand. It can move around the body. It can be predictable and unpredictable. It can vary in intensity and how it feels.”

MINDFULNESS COURSE 3rd, 10th, 17th APRIL – PILATES FOR YOUR MIND

At Club Rhythm we all practice Pilates for the body; but have you wondered how to practice “Pilates for the Mind”? What is mindfulness? All hype aside, ‘mindfulness’ simply means paying attention to the present moment. Practising mindfulness can help you to cope with everyday life and deal with tough times. It can also help you to concentrate and relax. You will increase awareness, become more grounded and confident, overcome the limiting effects of negative emotions, be more productive and, at the same time, free of stress.

This course is delivered through the Adelaide School of Practical Philosophy and is drawing on the great philosophic ideas of both East and West, past and present.  Running over 3 lectures, this course explores the meaning of wisdom, truth, consciousness, the real nature of Humanity and what inhibits its development. You will learn practical methods and exercises that can be applied in everyday life. The School of Philosophy has been offering practical philosophy courses in Australia since 1967. It is a not-for-profit, charitable institute welcoming all students interested in the pursuit of spiritual and emotional well-being, regardless of education, occupation, age, culture or religion.
