This July join us on a vertical awareness journey, from the Elephant to Arabesque to Single Knee Stretch with Attitude. Why these exercises? What do they have in common? We hear you asking …
The simple answer is – all these exercise will help you develop spatial awareness and will help you strengthen your entire body in a vertical position. Like always “comfortably uncomfortable”! 🙂
The elephant was named by Joseph Pilates because when you are standing on the reformer bed with your hands on the foot bar and your head is relaxed, the line of your spine looks like an Elephant’s trunk! The Pilates Elephant is great for lengthening, stretching and strengthening the back of your legs, the lower back and across your shoulders. The Arabesque is a great exercise for glute activation and a perfect movement after a hamstring strain and kicking sports where weight is moved onto one leg. And for a last push of vigour, stamina and coordination we will practice the Single Knee Stretch with Attitude.
These Pilates Reformer exercises can be a challenge to execute for the less flexible people so we’ll give you plenty of modifications and options. Join us on Instagram and Facebook to check the tips and videos.
Have Fun, Move well @clubrhythm with Pilates Reformer!
